In the afternoon, we set sail towards Nafplion, arriving late in the evening. Dinner is served onboard, followed by an overnight stay in port.
This evening also offers a unique opportunity to witness Greek Orthodox Good Friday traditions. Locals decorate the Epitaphios (the symbolic bier of Christ) with flowers before it is carried through the streets in a solemn candlelit procession during the Service of Lamentation — a deeply moving and authentic cultural experience.

This morning, we explore Ancient Epidaurus, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Walk through the sacred landscape surrounding the Temple of Apollo, pass the ruins of the Temple of Aphrodite, ancient olive groves, and arrive at the world-famous Ancient Theater of Epidaurus, celebrated for its extraordinary acoustics.
Lunch is served onboard as we return to Nafplion, the first capital of modern Greece, where we remain overnight.
Late tonight, experience the highlight of Greek Easter celebrations. At midnight, the priest proclaims “Christos Anesti” (Christ is Risen) and the Holy Flame is shared among worshippers. Church bells ring joyfully while ships in the harbor sound their horns in celebration.
Upon returning to the ship, we serve traditional Magiritsa soup, followed by the cracking of red Easter eggs (tsougrisma) — symbols of rebirth, luck, and community. Overnight sailing to Monemvasia.
Byzantine Heritage & Traditional Easter Feast
We arrive early in Monemvasia, the spectacular medieval fortress town often referred to as the “Gibraltar of the East.” On the pier, our Hotel Manager and Chef prepare a traditional Easter lamb barbecue, marking this special day in true Greek style.
